Who is this training for?

This training course is for all employees. It is intended to provide organizations with a first line of defence in the event of a fire.

Description

This training is based on NFPA 600, NFPA 1081, NFPA 10, and Académie des pompiers standards.

Goals

  • Applying occupational health and safety rules during an incipient fire
  • Understanding how fire behaves
  • Apply fire alarm procedures
  • Using a communication system
  • Extinguishing an incipient fire using a portable fire extinguisher
  • Establishing a water supply from a hose cabinet
  • Protecting assets
  • Tackling an incipient fire with a fire hose cabinet
  • Activating a fixed canon and a fixed extinguishing system
  • Equipment return-to-service
  • Carrying out a site prevention visit

Evaluation

One 25-question written exam. Assessment of working knowledge on portable fire extinguishers and the use of fire hose cabinets.  The required passing grade is 80%. A supplemental exam is available.
