Who is this training for?

This training course is for employees who are members of a company fire brigade. It is designed to ensure the response team is trained to respond to industrial fires.

Description

This training is based on NFPA 600, NFPA 1081, NFPA 1002, Fire Engine, and Académie des Pompiers standards.

Goals

  • Applying occupational health and safety rules during a fire response
  • Understanding how fire behaves
  • Using a portable fire extinguisher
  • Using hoses, nozzles, and accessories
  • Understanding and using fire streams
  • Using a respirator in a harsh environment
  • Carrying out a search for a victim and a fire source
  • Understanding how industrial building structures behave during a fire
  • Understanding industrial building mechanics
  • Using a communication system
  • Implementing warning procedures
  • Conducting a fire prevention tour
  • Using and understanding fixed protection systems
  • Providing a water supply
  • Using water cannons
  • Protecting assets
  • Using fire extinguishing foam
  • Educating participants about hazardous materials

  • Legal framework and definitions
  • Identifying and controlling hazards
  • Presenting and handling equipment, fire engines, and dynamic and/or static water sources

Evaluation

One 25-question written exam. Assessment of working knowledge regarding mechanical verification, start-up sequence, feed and discharge. The required passing grade is 80%. A supplemental exam is available.
