Who is this training for?

All employees in the workplace and industrial first responders who may be required to respond, according to existing protocols, to stabilize a victim and transfer them to paramedics.
There are no prerequisites for this training.

Description

By the end of this training, the candidate will be able to apply emergency first aid techniques in an industrial setting. This training meets First Responder, Student Guide, Direction des services préhospitaliers d’urgence, and Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux standards.

Goals

  • Knowing the role and responsibilities of the rescuer
  • Knowing the regulations and legal aspects
  • Learning the emergency response protocol
  • Learning to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Content

  • Adult cardiorespiratory arrest (CPR)
  • Using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Obstructed airway in a conscious and unconscious victim
  • Respiratory difficulty
  • Shock
  • Medical problems and trauma
  • Treating convulsions, heat stroke, and eye injuries
  • Chest pain
  • Occupational poisoning
  • Diabetic problems and allergic reactions
  • Treating burns, hypothermia, and hemorrhage
  • Addressing complex wounds
  • Injuries to the head, spine, and extremities
  • Techniques for moving a victim

Evaluation

One 25-question written exam. The required passing grade is 80%. A supplemental exam is available.
