Who is this training for?

All workers who may be required to coordinate resources during an emergency response in a confined space.
The prerequisites for this training are “Confined Space Rescue” and /or “Rescue Technician.”

Description

By the end of this training, the candidate will be able to apply emergency first aid techniques in an industrial setting. This training is based on RSST S-2.1, s. 223, CSA Z1006, NFPA 1006, NFPA 1983, NFPA 1670, Académie des pompiers, and Confined Space Rescue laws and standards.

  • Applying the health and safety rules related to confined space rescue management
  • Knowing the regulations that apply to confined space rescue management
  • Understanding the risks associated with managing a confined space rescue
  • Understanding emergency response management concepts
  • Applying a rescue plan

  • Legal framework and definitions
  • Identifying and controlling hazards
  • Handling rescue plan equipment; coveralls and personal protection
  • Managing miscellaneous systems, documentation, and forms

Evaluation

One 25-question written exam. The required passing grade is 80%. A supplemental exam is available.
